NASCAR’s first visit to the Roval (half road course, half oval) is going to be at Charlotte this week and a whole lot is up for debate.
Will this race play very similar to a road course like Watkins Glen with several wide open sections where drivers can pick up some speed, or can it play more as an intermediate track where drivers Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick have dominated so frequently over the last couple of decades?
The truth lies somewhere in the center, or even a little. BET Chicago says the Roval can play 33 percent just like Charlotte Motor Speedway, 33 percent just like Watkins Glen and another 33 percent just like an intermediate class.
That’s a lot but this really is a race where going chalk is most likely the best option. Kyle Busch enjoys Watkins Glen; he’s coming from a win and he’s success on intermediate tracks as well. If he isn’t out in front he’s the favored at 3/1 and will be stalking the chief.
